At 5:50 the line was out the door at West Barnstable's. Precinct 11, one of Congressional hopeful Jeff Perry's State Rep. Precincts.

Arriving to on the stage to a growing applause that led to a standing ovation and chants of “Perry, Perry, Perry,” Republican Jeff Perry conceded the race for Massachusetts' 10th Congressional District to Norfolk District Attorney Bill Keating at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis. Perry, a four-term state representative from Sandwich, was optimistic for his party. “Although we didn’t win in this election, candidates like myself have the opportunity to come forward and compete,” Perry said. To listen to the talk at his opponent’s camp, it isn’t just Perry’s bid for Congress that came to an end. As retiring U.S. Rep Bill Delahunt entered the Neighborhood Club of Quincy to celebrate Bill Keating’s victory, he raised his arm and said, “The Scott Brown effect is over. “

Vowing to form an advisory committee with members from each town he serves, David Viera edged out incumbent Matt Patrick for the 3rd Barnstable District Rep seat. Viera pledged to meet with Patrick in the coming weeks.
